BB

4 AUGUST 2019

We just took in a 10yr old Poodle BB. He was given up due to family financial issue. He looks quiet at fosterer's place and has some wound on his elbow, probably due to self biting. His ex-owner told us he has some skin issue and we were given some medication. He is a bit uncertain on his first day at fosterer's place and has occasional small growl. We let him settle down first and will keep everyone posted once he is ready for adoption.

If you are interested to know more about him, pls contact PurelyWoof 90709585. Pls share the post. Thank you.

He just want a family who can love and play with him. A senior toy poodle 10yr who yearned for human touch. BB was given up by his previous owner. We suspected she probably knew about his medical conditions and approached us for help. We can't blame her as we understood she stayed in rented HDB and has been bringing BB for treatment few times.

We took over BB and realised he has very firm tummy. First guess that came to our mind is Cushing Disease. Oh boy, its the same disease which our previous beagle Scooby has. Its an "expensive" disease as regular treatment is needed. We sent him to be tested and are waiting for results at the moment.

BB needs an experienced handler. He will take some time to warm up and a bit guarded. Apparently, her has bitten our volunteers during adoption drive as he's probably confused about his environment. In our last adoption drive, animal communicator Ezekiel was there and did a session with him. He told Ezekiel he missed his previous owner and he is worried about his future. Where will be and will he be given up again. He just want someone to love him like the previous owner. He was given up by first owner and adopted by second owner who gave him up eventually.

We will find a good home for him. If you like to open your house to him pls contact @PurelyWoof 90709585. We will also send him for his Op is needed. He is a sweet boy and deserve a permanent home. Pls share this post. Thank you.

Hello everyone, I am BB (a typical poodle), having a day out at foster mummy's garden. Singapore has been so hazy lately and its better to stay indoor. Unfortunately there's no mask for doggies at the Pet Shop so I wear my swimming google to protect my eyes from the haze. I have just been diagnosed with Cushing Disease, been given up by owner and am 10 years old. Now landed at Purely Adoption's wonderland care. Sound sad? Not really, I am still enjoying life to the fullest, loves my food (a bit of food aggression lah, so back off when I'm eating) and playing ball with foster mummy. I just need daily medication and I am just like any pet dog, loving you if you treat me well. If you think you can give me a forever home, pls contact @PurelyWoof Irene Rehoming Mummy at 90709585. She will link you up to meet me. I am really adorable if you see the real me. Hope to see you soon!

Yesterday we posted on BB who was recently diagnosed with Cushing Disease. Everyone might be wondering what is Cushing Disease? Basically Cushing Disease is common among middle-aged or older dogs and it happens when the dog’s body makes too much hormone called cortisol. Cortisol helps to regulates body weight, skin condition and tissue structure but too much cortisol can weaken the immune system. BB has few cushing’s symptoms such as more thirsty than usual dog, pee more often, has a pot belly and loses hair. There are 2 types of Cushing: Pituitary-Dependent and Adrenal-Dependent and medication is commonly used to help manage the symptoms. Medication can control small Cushing’s tumors but not for larger tumors that affect the brain. A dog untreated for Cushing’s disease can live as long as a dog with treatment. However the dog without treatment will experience more symptoms thus having a lower quality of life. So far, BB is an active happy boy with a big tummy. It’s unfortunate he was given up at the age of 10 and currently down with medication issue. Will we be able to find a home for him? Potential adopter will probably be worried about his medical fee. Currently his medicine is around $60plus excluding consultation and additional tests. One will probably need to set aside $100-$200 for his medical fee each time he/she visit the vet. If you feel you like to save an animal and can afford to adopt a dog that needs to be on long term medication, pls contact PurelyWoof 90709585. Pls share the post so BB can find his forever home soon. Thank you.

9 DECEMBER 2019

Today, we lost our dog who loves to dress up. BB came to us when his owner can't afford his medical fee (he was diagnosed with Cushing Disease) and she is staying in rented HDB. We took him in. Brought him to see vet and started his treatment for cushing. He responded well, showing excellent health report in his recent visit to the vet. At the age of 10, he is considered an active boy with huge love for food. In our adoption poster on him, we stated he has food aggression as we want potential adopter to be careful in this area. Other than that, he is a lovely boy who will show affection to people he loves. We have brought him to few adoption drives where he became moody and snapped at some of our volunteers. There are few people interested in him but back off when we told him about his food aggression and mood swings. It has been months since we have been looking a home for him but its ok. Fosterer is willing to foster him until the right family come along. BB's health improved tremendously. He has put on weight and his fur started to grow, a far cry from the time he first came to us. When we took him in, he was nearly bald with big tummy and open wounds on his ankles. In short, he doesnt look 'appealing' enough for people to adopt him and that's when we started to dress him up and found he actually like to dress up and people started to notice him. He has been happy at fosterer's home, according to Animal Communicator. We also noticed he started to test his limits at fosterer's home and know he will be forgiven, like the rest of the fosterer's dogs. He probably considered himself as part of the family, knowing fosterer will still forgive and love him. His passing is a shock to us as he seems too "healthy" to pass on so fast.

BB has been a happy dog since he came to Purely Adoptions. Animal Communicator has contacted him after his passing and told us he is thankful for his time at fosterer's house, especially the fosterer's helper who took good care of him. He mentioned he was happy as he has a family who loves him. Its comforting to hear that, its definitely a closure for the fosterer's family and PA's team who met him at adoption drives. He definitely has a home. Fosterer will bring his ash back together and place together with the urns of her other beloved pets. He will be a happy boy forever. RIP BB.
